Moving Ahead To 2008

Things sure seemed simpler back then. Who even thought about the New Year? I remember watching the ball drop in New York, if I could manage to stay awake. But what did it really mean? Hats and horns brought home from my parents New Years Eve party that's all the New Year meant to me. No decisions to make on what our goals and objectives were going to be for the New Year. Now there's that internal restlessness each year, similar to when I was in my 20's and trying to figure out what I was going to be. I for one hate that feeling, it's the same feeling like going to the dentist and having to sit there in the outer office all full of anticipation and disturbing images of contraptions in your mouth.
I always have the notion that it will all come to me in my sleep. You know the old saying, "just sleep on it and you'll find the answer." Wow, I have been doing a lot of sleeping lately and so far I'm still pacing. The anxiety of it all, I wonder if the people who were putting together the first Sears and Roebuck Catalog experienced this same quizzy feeling.
Each year there is a need to improve, expand and deliver. To re-invent ourselves, to step up to the challenge so that when we are ready to face 2009 it will be smooth sailing.
I have tons of ideas, tons of mental images and tons of gumption. So maybe that's all it ever takes when you are on your own. Decisions, decisions, I think I'm just going to have to sleep on it for awhile. In the meantime, I wish each of you a very Happy and Clear Headed New Year!

Hi M,

I know what you mean. Here I am in the middle of night blogging away because I can't sleep. I am wrestless with all the things that 2009 might bring "good or bad". It can become exhausting trying to reinvent yourself. I think we need to have a "sit-down" with Madonna ~ the master of reinventing herself and continuing to be a millionaire! lol

I think you need to have ambitions and dreams at the start of the year, and each year does bring something to your life, and who knows maybe one day we may get to the end of a year and say, yes that was my perfect year. I hope yours is a happy and fulfilling one. Louise x

Happy New Year Michele! If gumption could be bottled.. you'd be rich! I wish you much happiness and success in 2008. If you read the missing secret by Joe Viatle.. he talks about how the universe gives us ideas.. and most don't act on them. the ones that move.. are the successful ones! I hope you'll join me this year as we move on all of these great ideas!

Happy New Year Michelle..
I think it is a wonderful human resource that we can start each year afresh and spring clean the heart mind and soul to prepare for whatever life deals us in the coming year...
I hope your year is full of promise and happiness.

Nice comments on New Year's and so true... I've come to look forward to New Year's as a new chapter; an opportunity to start fresh. And, certainly, it's not as if all my challenges suddenly go POOF! Some things cross through the threshold with me. I just have an opportunity to see afresh and orchestrate some closure.

May this year bring your deepest desires to fruition. May you create, invent, and savor each moment!
