What Soothes You?

Color plays such an important role about how we feel. What colors soothe you? For as long as I can remember I have always loved white it has such a crisp fresh look. And I really love love love the look of these chairs with the simple green wreaths. Mix this with wonderful Mercury Glass candleholders and the setting would be perfect.
I always enjoy seeing how others decorate for the holidays. The traditional red and green or red and gold. Years ago while living in Louisiana I did a huge tree in all the Mardi Gras colors, green, purple and gold. The tree was gorgeous, and many people decorate their tree in these colors and leave it up for the Mardi Gras season.
I do hope all of you have a wonderful holiday. And you find the colors that will soothe you and bring much joy to your home.
By the way, please be sure to check out my many wonderful charms from Cathy Penton. She is a wonderful designer and was just featured in the December Romantic Home magazine. These charms are truly a treasure.

I agree with you that white is soothing, and combined with fresh green at the holidays it is so welcoming. I tend to decorate in traditional red/green/white and find that soothing at the holidays.

Cathy Penton's designs are fabulous...couldn't agree more and loved the spread about her in Romantic Homes.

Best of this holiday season to you!

Hello, I have just discovered you and your lovely blog from Michele at Cowboys & Custard, I am looking forward to having a look through, it looks so appealing and my kind of blog. I love mixing the old with the new too, it does make a home more interesting and as you say visitors do seem to like it. I like these green wreaths and against the white they look stunning but yet the idea is so simple, wish I'd thought of it before! It is interesting to read about the tradition of your festivals and holidays, I like using a mix of modern and nostalgic decorations at Christmastime. Wishing you a Happy Holiday, x

Michele,

Those charms are 2DIE4. I especially love the one with the "C" all glittered up. Hmmmm, I think I can find a home for that one, don't you.

They are all so beautiful and Cathy Penton does such amazing work. Good choice in gift ideas! Love it all.

Sweet Greetings Michele!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog this fine Thanksgiving morning! I too wish a happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. I would love to see your table setting for turkey day, no doubt it is gorgeous!
I agree with simple whites and greens for Christmas~ For me, the prettiest site is gentle falling snow resting on cedar boughs. That is soothing for me...Picture perfect~

Happy Gobble day Michele!

Hi Michele,
Thanks for visiting my blog!
I love your pic...white is one of my favourite colours too! I love wearing white as well. Nothing beats a nice crisp white shirt!
For christmas we have no particular theme colour for decorating. The kids just "go crazy" and put up anything and everything!!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Kathy :)

Thank you so much for your Thanksgiving wishes. Honestly - my home is tattered and worn and I have no sense of decorating style. But things of beauty touch my heart, and so I'm so grateful to have found your blog. Thank you.

So nice...:-)

I forgotten the blog, stupid me.

Everything on the right side of my blog- Hemma på Landet...comes from different net-shops.

The white bags that you show me, have been placed in a shop.

But everything in my blog - Hjärtan från Landet, is for sale...except the things to the right.

But...I can make pillow cases with the pictures that you like.

Hope that you understand my english.;-)

Maybe you can try to send the answer by the hotmail.

I will soon put some other things in my handmade-blog.

The candelabar is made by me...and it's the only one.

But if you like...I can get some crones and things like that to you, if I can find it.
Next week I will try to get to a shop, that I believe have some of this stuffs.

Hug again...Stina
Big hug my Friend. Stina

Hi Michelle,
I too, am finding I am moving toward more and more decorating with white. It just calms me. I seem to be moving away from all the pinks, just leaving a touch of it here and there. Now to decide on the Christmas decorations!
